Story Behind the Design
I've never really been a fan of pearls (as much as I love how they look)...and traditionally they've been considered bad luck in my family - not the least for the oyster they came from! Instead I thought: why not make a piece that evokes the classic charm and style of a pearl...without manhandling a mollusc to get it!
Pearls are a really interesting type of gemstone, especially since they aren't gemstones at all. Rather, they're an oysters natural defence system against irritants and parasites entering the molluscs shell. By covering the irritant with layers of aragonite and conchiolin (coincidentally - what the molluscs shell is made of) which together forms a substance called nacre...otherwise known as mother of pearl!

These handmade earrings are made from laser cut acrylic.

This product is produced from an original design and is hand assembled, painted and finished. As a result, there may be slight variations from piece to piece, making each pair as special as their owner.
Products are wrapped in tissue paper and packaged in a DayNightDusk post box. If you are buying this product as a gift, a greeting card can be added to the order at check out.
